Crossroads

Pat Foreman called me from Indianapolis yesterday to give me an update on the Crossroads of America Poultry show. She was excited about buying some Colored Dorkings from SPPA president Craig Russell, which she will donate to the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia. I took this picture at the Irish Farm section when I visited in 2008. He's a handsome rooster and had a couple of hens, but one of the staff members told me they were all getting old. The hens laid only an occasional egg. So it will be good to get a flock started there again.

Lots of photos of the show are posted at the show blog. Pat tells me over 10,000 birds are being shown.

Who will win the SPPA award of a 1905 edition of the APA Standard? Stay tuned.
